Missing My Car :(

Unfortunately during my move to Canada, I had to temporarily leave my Firebird on the east coast. I hope to have it here in British Columbia by the end of 2008 -- but I'm going back east to visit family in August, and I can't wait to drive it!

There's something inside me that yearns to once again experience 400 ft/lbs of torque at my command... To feel the vibration of the shifter under my hand and the pulse of the engine in my seat... And to hear the growl of the V8 and the hiss of the air intake as it sucks more air in a minute than a person breathes in a day, warning all those around me that they're about to get spanked. Sure, my wife's Ford Focus is a decent car -- lots of storage space, great on gas, fast acceleration to 35mph which is excellent for city driving, and an almost superhero-like turn radius. But it doesn't quite quell the dreams of speed that make my blood feel like it's boiling inside me.

During my six week stay back east, I will miss my new home here in BC, and I will miss my wife terribly... But I look forward to feeling the hug of my racing seats and once again smelling leather and burning fuel. And, of course, stomping on almost every vehicle that steps up to the plate on the freeway or at a red light! :)
